This is my page on Hinduism. The origin of Hinduism is so old that it happened before history was even recorded. Also, Hinduism wasn't found by a single person. Hinduism was developed slowly over a long period of time. The early Hindu religion is called Vedism. It was named after the Vedas. The Vedas were a collection of sacred texts. This included verses, hymns, prayers, and teachings composed in Sanskrit. Veda is Sanskrit for "knowledge". The Vedas were taught orally for hundreds of years before India had a written form of Sanskrit.
The Caste system plays a role in Hindu beliefs. Brahmanism were taught that a well-organized society was divided into social classes. Europeans soon called this the Caste system. The Vedas divided them into four main social classes. They were the Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and the Shudras. The Brahmins were for priests and religious scholars. The Kshatriyas was for the rulers and warriors. Vaishyas were for the herders and the merchants. Finally, the Shudras were for the servants. According to the Vedas, each class(varna) had their own duties.Over the centuries, a fifth class was developed. This was called the untouchables. They were the people whose jobs or activities were considered lowly or dirty. But over time, the Caste system started to grow more and more complex.
